Sondex Wireline Answers

Can I use your tools for Memory and Surface Readout?
Sondex Ultrawire tools can be used with Memory Sections for deployment on Slickline or Coiled Tubing. The same tools can also be used, via a telemetry converter, for Surface Readout operations using a single conductor electric wireline.

I have to log some hot wells; what are your tool ratings?
Our standard tools are rated to 15,000 psi and 350 deg F (177 deg C). Our HADES PL string is rated up to 20,000psi and 572 deg F (300 deg C) for over 6 hours. This duration is extended as the well temperature is reduced.

What training does Sondex offer?
Sondex runs regular training courses in all our locations. Training elsewhere can be arranged on request, and we offer customer-specific training on-site when new equipment is delivered. Details of forthcoming courses are published on our website or complete this form for more information.

Can I get advice if I have a problem?
All our offices have people dedicated to customer support. This covers everything from pre-job advice on tool selection for matching well conditions, to full equipment servicing.

How can I log a horizontal well?
Sondex provides a Downhole Tractor, which operates on standard production logging cable, to deploy almost any set of tools along highly deviated or horizontal wells. Additionally we have measurement tools designed for this type of application, e.g. the CAT for identification of the cross-sectional phase hold-up.

How can I investigate suspected damage in a well?
Using high resolution internal measurements, Sondex Multifinger Imaging Tools can produce 3D images and statistical data from a wide range of well and tubing sizes, even if the well is gas or mud filled. Complementary to the MIT is the Magnetic Thickness Tool, which provides information on the thickness of the metal remaining, thus providing a complete picture of well condition.

Can I investigate the condition of the cement?
Sondex manufactures Radial Bond Tools that provide standard Cement Bond logs. Additionally, they produce multi-track presentations showing bond quality around the well, allowing the investigation of channels within the cement.

Software is always changing; how can I get updates?
Clients who have purchased software are able to download updates from our website.

On my PLP panel, why can't I adjust rv3 to display the correct voltage on the voltmeter?
This is because new power supply boards (80700) are being fitted into PLPs and ULPs, and r13 is now a 200k resistor instead of the previous 82k resistor. Contact Sondex to obtain an 82k resistor. The ULP panel requires the 200k resistor already fitted.
